June Monthly Favourites

Every month, we are invited into beautiful homes across Southern Tasmania, each with its own personality, challenges, and story.

We love the fact that we get to work on all of them, but some just connect in a different way. Sometimes it’s the light in the property, maybe it’s an amazing penthouse, other times a stunning traditional home.

Here are a few of our favourite styling projects from June and a little bit about why they stood out to us.

Project One: 65 Clare Street, New Town

The Home

This classic Federation-style home was built in the early 1900s in one of Hobart’s oldest suburbs. It had been beautifully renovated and meticulously maintained. The property retained its original architectural features, including high ceilings, fireplaces with timber mantels, and timber flooring throughout.

Our Styling Approach

From our first inspection, we recognised the property’s incredible potential. Our styling approach was to create a modern interpretation of a traditional home. We introduced bold colours to complement the original fireplaces, layered bedding to create a sense of warmth, and carefully positioned lighting to draw the eye upwards and enhance the impressive ceiling heights.

Our colour palette featured rich browns, caramel, burgundy, sage green, and a touch of emerald. Furniture selections included natural rattan dining chairs, a relaxed look sofa paired sleek brown occasional chairs, and bobbin console table a contemporary take on a classic decorative style.

The Result

This was one of our most successful styling projects of the month. The warm colour palette, inviting furniture selections, and carefully curated artwork created a cohesive feel throughout the home and captured the imagination of buyers. The property sold within four days of hitting the market.

Project Two:  278 Tranmere Road, Tranmere

The Home

Originally built in the 1960s, this mid-century waterfront home was purchased in early 2025 and has since undergone an extensive renovation. It now presents as a contemporary coastal residence with sweeping views across the River Derwent.

Our Styling Approach

The styling brief was to create a modern coastal family home. With generous living spaces throughout, our furniture selections were carefully considered to maximise each room while ensuring the stunning water views remained the focal point.

The upstairs living area was styled as a parents’ retreat, creating a space where prospective buyers could imagine relaxing and unwinding. To complement the coastal aesthetic, we selected a colour palette of navy, orange, mauve, and subtle hints of green. Our furniture selections comprised of natural oak timbers, curved contemporary sofas, and layered texturesincluding bouclé, marble, and rattan which added warmth and depth while maintaining a lovely relaxed coastal feel.

The Result

The property was listed in early June and is currently on the market, with results to come.

Project Three: 23 Ascot Avenue, Sandy Bay

The Home

Positioned high above Sandy Bay, this multi-level family home enjoys expansive views across Hobart and the River Derwent. The home featured a unique glass atrium which created a sense of grandeur upon entry, with luscious indoor plants lining the exposed rock wall. With its distinctive 1980s architectural style, the property inspired us to create a contemporary family home while paying homage to the era in which it was built.

Our Styling Approach

During our initial walkthrough, it was clear the home’s generous open-plan living spaces and multiple bedrooms would appeal to families. Our goal was to create a modern interior while celebrating the home’s original 1980s character.

We selected a vibrant palette of pink, green, and orange, incorporating geometric patterns, rich textures such as velvet and faux fur, tropical-inspired greenery, and abstract artwork to subtly reference the era without overwhelming the space.

The Result

This project was particularly memorable because of the home’s unique design and architectural features. Opportunities to style homes with so much personality are rare, and we enjoyed stepping away from our usual approach to embrace a contemporary interpretation of 1980s style.

We were super pleased with the styling outcome. The property was introduced to the market in early June and sold in just over two weeks. Another successful result for our clients.
