25th July, 2015
Hobart based Shift Property Styling has been awarded the Tasmanian Micro Business Award 2015 at the Telstra Australian Business Awards at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart last night.
The win signifies a growing interest in the Property Styling industry and recognises the hard work the directors of the business, Adam and Donielle Luttrell, have put into developing a brand new industry and business in Tasmania over the last 10 years.
Shift Property Styling specialise in the preparation, styling and presentation of homes for sale to ensure they sell for a premium price in the least amount of time possible. The business utilises a substantial inventory of furniture and accessories to take into vacant homes to transform them into beautifully lived in homes and assists lived in properties determine how best to present what they already have in the home.
The business came about from the simplest of ideas – a pile of dirty laundry on the floor of an open home the directors had gone to inspect one Saturday morning.
Since then, the service has paved the way for property styling in the Tasmanian market as home owners, real estate agents, builders and developers have realised how they can harness the power of emotional property buying through styled homes for sale. During this time, Shift Property Styling have educated the market on the benefits of the service and streamlined their offering to further enhance the customer experience.
“Shift Property Styling’s focus is not just getting a pretty look in each home, it’s about showing the positives in the property, the things that buyers will see and fall in love with. We look at who will most likely buy the property and how they will use it. It’s about ensuring that they see an aspirational look that reflects a lifestyle that buyers want to live in. It’s the look that makes the buyer fall in love with the home” said Adam.
“We work with a lot of interstate clients who cannot be here during the sales process so we provide additional optional assistance such as yard maintenance, window cleaning and general maintenance so they are assured the property looks great.”
As a completely new start up, Shift Property Styling has completed well over 600 vacant property styling projects and hundreds of lived in property consultations.
“Regardless of the type of property, our core aim is to make the process as simple and rewarding as possible for our clients but to also make the service approachable without the snobbery sometimes associated with designers. Through this prestigious award we can continue to show this” said Donielle.
“We are thrilled and honoured to be a recipient of this award. It signifies the effort and work put into the business and given the competition we were up against shows that micro business has a place in today’s business landscape. It also shows that innovation in Tasmania is not just about tourism, food or wine and that if you have an idea that can benefit a customer and create an industry at the same time you should go for it”
“Telstra and News Limited provide small business an incredible platform to have a voice and share their stories which otherwise may not be heard which is an amazing thing for small business owners.” said Adam
